At Thickwall Cylinders Ltd we understand that the security of your data is important to you and it is important to our business. We are fully compliant with the Data Protection Act and are working to ensure full compliance with the new General Data Protection Regulation in advance of its full implementation in May 2018. This will provide for all users to:

  • Tell the user who you are, why you collect the data, for how long, and who receives it.
  • Get a clear consent [when required] before collecting any data.
  • Let users access their data, and take it with them.
  • Let users delete their data.
  • Let users know if data breaches occur.

We do not disclose any personal data about our customers to any third party, unless it is required in order to process an oder or it is required by law.

We will regularly review this policy in the light of ongoing risk assessments and changes to good practice.

Mailing List

You can opt into our mailing list, which is used to send customers information about new products and services, changes to our business or special events that may be of interest. We will never add you to our Newsletter ourselves. Only you can add yourself to this newsletter. You will be asked to confirm your email address via a confirmation email. You can use the unsubscribe link at the bottom of each newsletter to unsubscribe. This can be found at the bottom of each email or you can email us at any time to request to be unsubscribed.


If you contact us by email to discuss a possible order, we will only keep emails for thirteen months (in order to cover the warranty period), after which the email and our response will be deleted.

Information kept regarding purchases

Under UK tax law, we are required to keep records of purchases for seven years. These are kept securely and will be shared with tax authorities as required by law. Our accountant, their software provider and the tax authorities and  and their will have accesses to these files but appropriate safeguards are in place to ensure the security of this data.

If you have set up an account with us, you can email us to ask that it is deleted. We cannot delete purchase information kept us since it is require under UK tax law.

Any personal data you supply to us will be used only to process that order (processing the payment and shipping). We may need to retain this information in order to fulfill statutory legal obligations, but the data is not used for any purpose other than processing your order and to maintain financial records. Please note: we are not able to process any order unless we are given a valid email address.

Credit and debit card payments are made through our merchant account provider, Secure Trading or PayPal via their third party system and we do not keep your card details.

We collect information only to process your order. The type of information we will collect about you includes: your name, address, telephone number, and e-mail address.

We will not normally telephone you unless there is an urgent need to clarify something related to your order. We would normally email you with any query. If we do telephone, our number will be withheld and we will ensure that it is an appropriate time fr a discussion to take place. We will take great care if a message is left and not leave inappropriate messages.

Your phone number will be passed onto any courier services were for shipping but they will not know the detail of the contents of your package.

If you purchase, you will receive emails updating you about your order’s progress and ONE email checking that you are happy with your order. You will not receive any further emails or be subscribed to our newsletter.

Cyber and Physical Security

The Payment Card Industry (PCI) Data Security Standard is an information security standard for organizations that handle branded credit cards from the major card schemes.  We undertake a full PCI compliance exercise annually to certify that all systems are secure and PCI compliant. We have a further PCI compliance certification for telephone orders made with a card.

We will not disclose any personal data about our customers to any third party, unless it is require to process your order (payment or shipping) or required by UK law. Appropriate security precautions are taken with both digital and paper information.

Reviews on our Products

Each product has the functionality for reviews of that product. Most customers do not use a full name in a way that might identify them, but if you would like the review removed or modified, please email us and we will remove it.

Checking/deleting the information we keep on you

You can check the information that we hold about you by emailing us via our contact page. If you find any inaccuracies we will delete or correct it promptly. The personal information that we hold will be held securely in accordance with our internal security policy and legal requirements. We will not transfer your information outside the EEA (European Economic Area), with the exception of your name and contact details I found your order is being shipped outside the United Kingdom or the Europena Union.  We will usually acknowledge your request within 24 hours and will respond fully WITHIN 5 working days. You can also request that we delete any personal information that is not required to process your order and maintain records for lawful reasons, such as accounting, taxation and warranties.
